Mission
To improve the quality of life for Louisiana’s rural communities by extending agriculture and healthcare education opportunities.
founder Fritz Lang 1902-1998
In 1989 the Fritz Lange Foundation was created promoting agriculture to benefit the education of youth from rural communities near his beloved farm on the shores of Lake Arthur, Louisiana. The scholarship program was founded in 1991 and has provided scholarships and grants in excess of Ten Million Dollars since its inception. Other donations for advancement of agriculture and other rural Louisiana education interests have gone to schools in Vermilion, Jefferson Davis and Acadia Parishes, and to McNeese State University, Southern University in Baton Rouge, University of Louisiana at Lafyette and Louisiana State University at Eunice.
The Foundation does not intend to issue new direct scholarships at this time; instead the Foundation is working with Louisiana Universites on a new program designed to help Louisiana’s rural population.
